Meet the Team – The iFashionDesign Family

Claire Gray. Founder, Managing Director.

I am committed to providing young people with opportunities to develop self-confidence, make friends and have fun. In 2009 I had my eureka moment when, seeing some young people in a haberdashery chatting about the buttons and fabric they liked, I realised that fashion designing was the perfect way to provide creative, sociable and positive opportunities for young people. I have a degree in Psychology and a Masters in Media and Cultural Analysis, and while at university I worked as a Learning Support Assistant for a child with special needs. My career has included various roles within the Children and Families department including Education Welfare Officer, Early Intervention Coordinator, and then Locality Coordinator; working with headteachers and youth services to set up positive and engaging projects for young people. I remain indebted to my fashion designer sister, who was happily bribed (with lots of chocolate) into helping me develop the iFashionDesign idea until the rest of the iFashionDesign family joined me.

The Creatives

The iFashionDesign team consists of fashion designers, costume designers, textile designers and surface designers. It is thanks to these hugely talented people that we can provide our fun, innovative and fashion-forward workshops. Whether it’s upcycling a shirt into a gorgeous bag, dress-making, creating beautiful jewellery or fashion illustrating like a pro, our team has done it, seen it, and made the t-shirt.
